Shute Harbour

Shute Harbour is a natural harbour which offers vessels shelter from both the prevailing southeasterly and northerly winds.  The Harbour provides access to Hamilton Island, island camping transfers for camping in the National Parks (permits are required), renting yachts, kayaking, 3 island cruise and commercial barges servicing the resort islands.
Bushwalking and fishing are local activities, which are accessible via closeby Queensland National Parks bushwalking tracks.  The harbour itself has a special fishing pontoon, where on a lucky day you may catch a coral trout or a  mackerel.

The seaside village of Airlie Beach is 15 minutes by car or bus. Saturday markets, shopping centres, supermarkets, newsagents, restaurants, marinas and sailing club are here. Two large shopping centres are located at Cannonvale, a small suburb of Airlie Beach. Public transport will leave the Harbour at regular intervals between the hours of 6.30 am to 6.30 pm daily.
